As any other country Belarus has its own Independence Day, which is celebrated on 3rd of July. This date marks the liberation of Minsk city from the Nazis in 1944. Some people consider that it brings Belarus back to its soviet past and the date of holiday is arguable. Some suggest that the date must be 27 July, when Belarus declared its independence from USSR, or 25 August, when the appropriate law was implemented. But despite controversy every year there is a military parade, different concerts and festivals.
